Leaders for Change, Children's Services - Service Director, Children and Families

Children's Social Care in Sandwell has had a tough time and our cycle of under performance has been well publicised. But we're striving hard for purposeful change, and we'll never forget the reasons why. This is about giving children and their families their strongest voice yet. Every new initiative will be designed to listen to their needs; every action will ensure that first-class care and attention is delivered where it's needed the most.

The process has already begun. We've embarked on a unique partnership with iMPOWER and Penna that will strengthen our capability and capacity; we're building a solid team of robust, senior management and we're committed to making change happen. This is your chance to be part of this and make your voice heard and career bigger. In this role, you will be instrumental in leading this through your senior management and leadership skills and experience. You will be working directly with Cabinet Members, the Corporate Director and the Management Board of the Council to provide management direction for these services and you will be the Principal Social Worker in respect of Children. This role offers the opportunity to also be responsible for developing, supporting and promoting a culture of continuous improvement and customer-focus within children's services.

For further information and to register your interest please email sandwell@penna.com or call Rebecca Jones on 020 7332 7870 or Jonathan Swain on 020 7332 7757.

Closing date: 10am, Monday, 27 May 2013.
