Ex-leader’s diary date questioned The former leader of Hull City Council marked the birthday of his alleged abuse victim in his private diaries, a court heard this week. Colin Inglis, 49, told Leeds Crown Court he had ‘no idea’ why he had singled out the teenager’s birthday in his diaries while working as a social worker at a local authority children’s home. Inglis, of Wellington Street West, Hull, has denied 14 counts of indecently assaulting a male person under 16 between April 1982 and August 1983. The trial continues.
