About 18 months ago I mused on the idea of a new leadership development programme which spanned the whole of the public sector which delivered services in localities & after a great deal of debate, discussion and engagement we launched a new programme called Future Vision in January 2013 under the auspices of a refreshed Leadership Centre. This was covered in the MJ on the 20th June in an article called 'Leading from the front'Last week the first Cohort of Future Vision completed its first week of learning at Cumberland Lodge in Windsor (a Crown Estate property run by a charity) - it included representatives from Health, security, Police, Local Government, Treasury, DCLG and 3rd sector Housing. The Cohort also included nominations from private sector partners to Future Vision. The range of academic input was quite awesome and without doubt met with considerable approval by participants. The 2nd tranche will be in October and we have already started the task of looking at nominations for the 2014 Cohort.Sitting alongside the national Future Vision programme we have the locality based Local Vision concept which will be place based leadership development around a local theme which is relevant to an area. The health sector are playing a significant role in Local Vision and are key partners as we implement up to 30 Local Vision programmes in the next 12 months.Alumni from the preceding programmes, Vital Vision and Leeds Castle have been auto-enrolled into the new Future Vision Alumni & a series of events will be announced over the Autumn. Our launch partners EC Harris, PWC & BT are key to our success and the engagement of the private sector brings a new and exciting dynamic to the whole programme.
