The Audit Commission has published a new report highlighting some of the best examples of good practice in local government. Learning from CPA in 2005/6 draws together findings from 17 corporate assessments of county councils and unitary authorities and 388 resource assessments in all councils in 2005/6. The examples include Staffordshire CC, which reduced its carbon emissions by 44% and Horsham DC’s cross-party budget scrutiny group, which identified large efficiency savings. Other examples include developing strategies for older people and promoting health.
