Leeds City Council has announced the preferred bidder for a £65m independent living project, which will improve life for 350 adults across the city. The preferred bidder is the LiLAC Consortium, which includes the Progress Care Housing Association, local builder Jack Lunn Construction, and Powerminster Gleeson Services. The contract is to build 70 purpose-built homes for adults, and two for children, on 39 sites across Leeds. It will be awarded in March 2008. Building work will begin in May.
