The Leeds World Cup Consortium, led by Leeds City Council, has welcomed the news that the New Zealand and Italian national teams will be based there for next year's international rugby league event.
Two world cup matches will also be held at the Headingley Carnegie Stadium, including a group match between New Zealand and Papua New Guinea.
