Leeds mulls over Yorkshire County Cricket Club loan extension

Leeds City Council met on 18 July to discuss plans to extend a loan to Yorkshire County Cricket Club.

Leeds City Council met on 18 July – after The MJ went to press – to discuss plans to extend a loan to Yorkshire County Cricket Club used to upgrade the county's historic Headingly test match ground.

As well as helping Yorkshire CCC to secure the freehold on the venue – a condition of international cricket – the loan has also helped the county upgrade its ground amid competition to host test matches from other English counties.
