Taunton Deane BC will not face legal action over the death of a baby girl killed by a faulty thermostat. Rhianna Hardie died in 2006 when a water tank in her council home burst, showering her with boiling water. An inquest jury last month said her death could have been avoided if details of a similar incidence in Penzance in 2002 had been drawn to the attention of the council. The Health and Safety Executive has said it will not take any enforcement against the council.
