Leeds City Council has called in a top legal firm to advise on its ground-breaking, £200m regeneration venture. City law firm, Trowers & Hamlins, will help negotiate the contract for its joint venture partnership with Bellway Plc, to regenerate 120 hectares of east and south-east Leeds. The council claims it is responding to local government minister John Healey's recent message encouraging local authorities to make greater use of their wellbeing powers. Leeds also hopes the contract will ensure deadlines are met for major regeneration projects over a 20- year period.
