Friends of the Earth (FoE) over the environmental impact of its regional development plan for the East of England. The group warned the plan might contravene EU laws aimed at protecting Europe's most precious wildlife sites. The FoE said: ‘The Government is trying to force too many people, houses and related infrastructure into some of our most environmentally-sensitive areas.'
