Leicestershire CC's ruling Conservative group has begun an internal investigation into European-related expenses claims made by its former leader, Cllr David Parsons'.

The news follows last week's decision by Leicestershire to bill Cllr Parsons for between £4,000 to £5,000 for further travel expenses linked to his role on the EU Committee of the Regions (CoR) meetings.
