Milton Keynes Council has won first place in the local authority of the year category at the 2011 British Council for School Environments (BCSE) awards for best practice in UK design and construction and schools.
Ty Goddard, director of the BCSE, said judges felt the council had overcome ‘some significant challenges and delivered some brilliant schools'.
