LGA calls for lottery cash review

The LGA has called for a review into how lottery cash is allocated for arts and cultural purposes.

The Local Government Association has called for a review into how lottery cash is allocated for arts and cultural purposes, so more funds can be put to use boosting local tourism economies.

A paper entitled The visitor economy: a potential powerhouse of local growth argues the Government and lottery distributors should recognise the work carried out by councils to support local arts scenes. It also calls on ‘needlessly complex national funding streams' to be reformed and made more accessible.
