The Local Government Association still plans to fight for the abolition of Ofsted's children's services league tables, after the Care Quality Commission's adult services assessments were scrapped last week.
The demise of the CQC figures is a further nail in the coffin of local government performance assessment, following the communities secretary's plans to rid the sector of the Audit Commission.
