Town hall bosses defend their track record on fostering and adoption, amidst Ofsted claims.

Town hall bosses have defended their track record on fostering and adoption after Ofsted claimed that seven out of every eight prospective parents will drop out of the process or be rejected by social workers.

The chair of the Local Government Association's children and young people board, Cllr David Simmonds, said: ‘It would be misleading to simply select a certain figure as a barometer of a council's approach to fostering and adoption, as this fails to recognise the often different and complicated circumstances around each and every child.'
