LGiU urges joint approach to solving social challenges

The LGiU has suggested, long-term complex challenges facing society and the economy must involve deeper localism.

Long-term complex challenges facing society and the economy must inevitably involve deeper localism and radical public service transformation through networks of local innovation, the Local Government Information Unit has suggested.

A new collection of essays published by the think-tank, entitled Connected Localism includes contributions from Richard Reeves, deputy prime minister Nick Clegg's former strategy adviser, who makes the case for local authorities playing a stronger role boosting social mobility.
