Liberal Democrats communities shadow, Andrew Stunnel, has criticised secretary of state Ruth Kelly's initiative to target extremism among the Muslim communities as the ‘usual mix of good intentions and poor analysis'. Conservative shadow home secretary, David Davis, said: ‘It is past time the Government stopped dithering. It should use the laws we already have to actually deal with those who preach hate.'
