Libraries are providing a range of new services – including music gigs and shop space – as many struggle to make ends meet during harsh local government cuts, a new report has found.
Published on 23 June, the Local Government Association's (LGA) study highlights many ways councils have maintained library services while meeting wider community aims, including sharing library space with other public organisations such as GP surgeries and Job Centre services.
