The Museums, Libraries and Archives Council has published a new blueprint designed to help councils improve library services and save £20m a year. Better stock, better libraries has plans for libraries to work together to bring the cost of buying books down. They would share books from a national bank instead of all buying their own stock. ‘These proposals have the potential to mean better library stock, better services and better value for money,’ said chair of the Stock Procurement Steering Group, Chris White.
