A major London-focused housing and regeneration event takes place next month at Islington's Business Design Centre. Top regeneration and housing speakers will be attending this year's Future of London exhibition and conference, on 8 October, including deputy mayor, Sir Simon Milton, and Sir Bob Kerslake, chief executive of the Homes and Communities Agency. The event, in its third year, is an opportunity for private and public sector experts in London's housing and regeneration world to share good practice and catch up with latest policy. Its media partners are The MJ and its website, LocalGov.co.uk Organiser, Andrew Sissons, says: ‘The economic situation has dramatically altered the landscape of regeneration in the capital. ‘In the current climate, regeneration practitioners have needed to adapt quickly to operate within a very different set of circumstances, with both the public and private sectors looking at how to deliver much more value with much less resources. ‘The Future of London will focus on these issues. In addition, with a general election only nine months away, the battle for new ideas and fresh thinking around the future direction of policy is beginning to take shape.' Future of London is a not-for-profit conference which is run by London boroughs, and is supported by HCA London, LDA, GLA, and the Environment Agency. The event provides an ideal opportunity to talk to the people who are responsible for delivering regeneration in the capital. Future of London is the occasion when senior figures in the industry will come together to share best practice, and to be at the forefront of thought leadership, helping shape new policy ideas around the future direction of the industry.
