The National Audit Office (NAO) has urged the Government to create a ‘one-stop shop' of information about regulation. A report by the NAO has called for Whitehall to merge the three databases of regulatory information it currently has into one system. The report argues that a single database would help make it easier to remove any regulations which are out-of-date or overlap. It could also improve transparency and create a better understanding of what regulation is currently in place.
