Liverpool's Labour group leader, Ron Anderson, has called for the suspension of the city's chief executive, Colin Hilton, and an investigation into his conduct.
The request will go to a meeting of the council's appointment and disciplinary panel, which is made up of four Liberal Democrat and three opposition Labour councillors and is due to meet tomorrow (Friday, 25 July). Mr Hilton was appointed in June 2006 following the breakdown of relations between former council leader, Mike Storey, and the-then chief executive, Sir David Henshaw.
