Local authorities set for increased powers over EU spending

Councils are due to have greater input into EU funding as Brussels recognises local authorities must be more closely involved.

Councils are due to have greater input into European Union (EU) funding as Brussels recognises local authorities must be more closely involved in spending.

The move comes after the LGA lobbied the EU for more collaboration between central and local government which, it claims, has delayed tourism and business schemes previously.
