Local government generates the most complaints over requests made under the Freedom of Information Act, according to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) latest annual report.
The study, published on 6 July, reveals councils were responsible for 43% of the 4,633 complaints received by the ICO last year, while central government registered around one-quarter (24%). Other sectors to incur the wrath of residents included health (11% of complaints), education (8%) and the criminal justice sector (7%).
