Local councils top league for FoI complaints

According to the Information Commissioner's Office latest annual report,local government has the most complaints over requests under the FOI act.

Local government generates the most complaints over requests made under the Freedom of Information Act, according to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) latest annual report.

The study, published on 6 July, reveals councils were responsible for 43% of the 4,633 complaints received by the ICO last year, while central government registered around one-quarter (24%). Other sectors to incur the wrath of residents included health (11% of complaints), education (8%) and the criminal justice sector (7%).
