Absorbing significant cuts in local authority budgets to help reduce the national overdraft is one thing, but the pill is made very bitter when a similar approach is not adopted to Britain's contribution to EU budgets - I fail to understand why UK public services should accept necessary budget cuts while EU institutions fail to understand that a nil increase in budgets is the very baseline for discussion.I am not a great fan of political rebellions, but these MP's have a point - a cut in the EU budget would be very appropriate.
