Community cohesion is formed in places, so while national direction is awaited, social cohesion – the bonds that bind and strengthen the UK – are under immense pressure.

It is no surprise most people believe the country is divided, so much so that it is dangerous for society. Just look around. People are exhausted. Over the last 15 years, political parties of all colours have spoken of seemingly never-ending ‘tough choices', with no glimmer that life is getting better.
