Ex-London boss named to chair Welsh Boundary Commission

Max Caller, chairman of the Local Government Boundary Commission for England, has been appointed as interim chair of the Local Government Boundary Commission for Wales.

Max Caller, chairman of the Local Government Boundary Commission for England, has been appointed as interim chair of the Local Government Boundary Commission for Wales.

The former chief executive of Barnet and Hackney LBCs, Mr Caller will take up the temporary post on 22 July for a period of just over eight months. The move follows the sacking of three of the Welsh commissioners in June, by Carl Sargeant, minister for local government and communities in Wales, after the publication of a highly critical report into the organisation, which said it was ‘not fit for purpose'.
