London has the best performing local economies in England but northern cities are top for economic scale, according to a detailed analysis of all 325 local authority areas.
The exclusive analysis by research consultancy, the Local Futures Group, in partnership with The MJ finds that the top five areas for economic performance are all in London. But cities such as Leeds, Manchester, Sheffield and Newcastle have the largest local economies by scale.
