The Mayor of Hackney, Jules Pipe, has welcomed the takeover of the North London Line by London Overground. The takeover signals the start of a £200m programme to overhaul the line by Transport for London (TfL) between now and 2011. The work is part of a £1.4bn investment programme in London Overground which will also bring Hackney's first proper Tube link.
