MJ Diary would like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to the Bournemouth IMAX Cinema – aka the ugliest building in Britain – that went to the great seafront in the sky last week.

The much-maligned picture house has been shut since 2005 and has continually been a thorn in the side of Local Government Association annual conference delegates who thought they would at least get to see the sea, in-between all their discussions on unitary reorganisation, finance and where you can get a decent glass of Pinot Grigio for under £2.50.
