London housing associations should move into the burgeoning private rented sector, delegates at the Chartered Institute of Housing's South East conference were told this week.
Robert Grundy, director of housing and public sector at estate agents Savills, said there were big opportunities for associations because the private rented sector was forecast to increase from 18% at present to as much as 30% of UK households by 2020.
