Lords committee urges Government to hand council BSR responsibility

The Government has been urged to hand some Building Safety Regulator (BSR) responsibilities to councils as ministers admitted 67% of applications to the body were awaiting determination.

The Government has been urged to hand some Building Safety Regulator (BSR) responsibilities to councils as ministers admitted 67% of applications to the body were awaiting determination.

The cross-party House of Lords Industry and Regulators Committee branded processing delays at the BSR ‘unacceptable' and warned they could mean Labour missing its target to build 1.5m homes by 2029.
