lsland signs £260m PFI deal for major road upgrade

Isle of Wight Council has signed a 25-year, £260m PFI highways agreement with Vinci Concessions and partner, Merdiam.

Isle of Wight Council has signed a 25-year, £260m PFI highways agreement with Vinci Concessions and partner, Merdiam.

The contract was signed in London last week by representatives of both companies and the local authority. Roads, pavements and cycle paths will all be upgraded under the contract, and the work will be carried out under the name Island Roads.
