According to an Audit Commission report published this week, Lydney Town Council failed to authorise staff wages and salaries for 'many years'.

Lydney Town Council failed to authorise staff wages and salaries ‘for many years', due to ‘weak' governance procedures, according to an Audit Commission report published this week.

The council also failed to properly consider increasing wages and issued cheques with one signature in breach of its own regulations and the Local Government Act 1972.
