The Jobcentre Plus network has successfully navigated the recession and continued to provide innovative services despite undergoing major reforms, a national spending watchdog has reported.
A study issued by the National Audit Office (NAO) on 13 February finds jobcentres coped with a massive rise in claimants – which saw applicant numbers increase from around 900,000 to 1.5 million between September 2008 and March 2009.
