Whitehall departments will soon receive greater powers to share details of people and companies that owe the Government money.

Cabinet Office minister, Francis Maude, announced the move on 15 October. It forms part of his plan to pursue a large chunk of the estimated £20bn owed to the Government through unpaid debt.
