Liverpool City Council has started work on a new Notre Dame Catholic College, a £15m scheme approved by the authority following the £130m City Deal secured by City Mayor Joe Anderson.

Under the Mayor's investment plan for secondary schools – devised as a rescue package in the aftermath of the Government's decision to scrap the Building Schools for the Future scheme – 12 Liverpool schools will receive funding.
