Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, has launched a commission to examine how the capital could keep hold of a greater share of its multibillion-pound tax revenues.

The London Finance Commission – which will be chaired by Professor Tony Travers, a leading academic at the London School of Economics – has been set up as part of Mr Johnson's manifesto pledge that he would demand City Hall got a fairer funding settlement from central government.
