Liverpool City Council has welcomed its 'city deal',which includes an additional £75m and powers from the DCLG.

Liverpool City Council has welcomed its ‘city deal', which includes an additional £75m and powers from the DCLG to establish the first Mayoral Development Corporation outside London.

Cities minister, Greg Clark, said both moves towards a directly-elected mayor and the board, which will oversee the city's economic and housing strategy, satisfied government requirements for strong governance, leadership and accountability.
