Paul Roberts has been appointed as the new managing director of the Improvement and Development Agency. He will replace Lucy De Groot, who spent five years at the helm, at the start of April. Mr Roberts is currently director of strategy at the IDeA, and will lead the organisation working closely with fellow director John Hayes in an expanded role as director of services and development for the next year. Chairman of the IDeA, Ian Swithenbank, said: ‘Mr Roberts brings a huge knowledge and experience of local government to this role, alongside his work in senior executive and advisory roles in the private sector and central government.'
