Minister Hazel Blears addressed a conference to discuss how to improve understanding of how migrant workers benefit the economy. A spokesman for conference organiser, the East of England Development Agency (EEDA), said migrant workers were ‘absolutely critical' to the survival and success of businesses, but greater understanding of pressures on local services and measures to address them were needed.
