Westminster City Council has warned home secretary, John Reid, about the increased influx of nationals from new European Union accession countries. Leader of the council, Sir Simon Milton, said Westminster faced ‘an unmanageable situation that is not of our making'. Unless funding from the Government was forthcoming, he warned of increased crime and people sleeping rough.
