Milton Keynes Council has taken £400,000 out of its Decent Homes programme to pay for urgent repair work on its housing stock. Cabinet member for social care, housing and health, Cllr Irene Henderson, said the money was taken out of the £14m budget to deal with any emergency repairs. ‘It's based on projections,' said Cllr Henderson. ‘The chances are we may not need it.' She said the £400,000 was ‘an example of having to shoe-horn things in' to the Decent Homes programme.
