Shadow communities minister, Barbara Keeley, has claimed there will be a social care crisis, following a devastating report from AgeUK.

The charity claimed the system was failing, after Freedom of Information requests to 110 councils revealed those aged over 65 would be worse off than this time last year, due to the cuts. The charity claimed councils in England were cutting expenditure on social care for the elderly by £610m this year, or 8.4%.
