This has been a bad day… meetings and briefings about the impact of the Governments' Resource Review (the one that does not incentivise growth when growth is what we need); the impact of the Government's 10% saving on council tax benefit (without impacting on the vulnerable); the viability of local government bond issues to cover borrowing for housing (when we have fewer resources to invest); shared services (hard or what?); the pension fund deficits (impossible); sons going back to college (sad); I could go on...

But, in among all of these impossibly-hard conundrums, it is the little things that keep you grounded and prevent you from actually going mad.
