Consulting and business service group, Mouchel, has reported an order book of £2.1bn in its latest set of trading figures. The company published an interim management statement last week, which reported a strong trading performance and £2.2bn in its bidding pipeline. The last 12 months have seen Mouchel take over management consultant, Hedra, and outsourcer, HBS, and the company reported in its latest set of figures that performance remained in line with expectations. A one-year extension to Mouchel's 10-year business process outsourcing contract with Lincolnshire CC has been secured, and the firm is currently discussing the possible extension of its contract with Middlesbrough Council. Mouchel are also talking with Oldham MBC and Milton Keynes Council about extending the range of services in their contracts with the company. The firm's Building Schools for the Future (BSF) contract with Hackney LBC is about to reach financial close, and Mouchel is one of the last two contenders for Southwark LBC's BSF deal. Over the last 12 months, Mouchel has also signed highways contracts with Hertfordshire CC. Mouchel's traffic support business also won its first parking services commission with Hillingdon LBC. The company has also expanded its international division in the Middle East, and recently secured a planning and design role supporting one of the government-backed Dubai development firms with a new development in Saudi Arabia. It is also now bidding for the latest round of Highways Agency maintenance management contracts. Mouchel's utilities business also continues to perform well, and it has just been appointed preferred bidder for a contract to provide engineering design services to Severn Trent Water. Chief executive Richard Cuthbert said earlier this year (The MJ, April 10) that local authority modernisation projects were helping boost company profits.
