The Tyneside Cinema is moving to a new home - the historic Gateshead Old Town Hall - to allow for major refurbishment work. The cinema will make the short journey across the Tyne next week and set up home at the newly-revamped town hall, where it will stay until 2008. Cllr Mick Henry, leader of Gateshead MBC, said: 'The Old Town Hall will provide the perfect temporary home for the Tyneside Cinema. It's got tons of character, and is one of the finest Victorian buildings in Gateshead.' Pictured are Geoff Cooke, chairman of Tyneside Cinema and Cllr Henry.
