MPs support publicity code to crack down on 'Pravdas'

Communities secretary Eric Pickles' promises to crack down on ‘town hall Pravdas' became a reality last week, when the new publicity code for local authorities was passed by Parliament.

Under the code, the Government recommends councils not publish newspapers more than four times a year – although it suggests parishes can publish up to once a month.
