Scottish councils stand accused of pocketing a ‘shocking' £3m from overcharging children for music tuition, a teaching union has claimed.

According to research obtained by the Educational Institute of Scotland using Freedom of Information laws, while eight Scottish councils waived tuition charges, the remaining 24 authorities set fees of between £95 to £340 annually.
