Ministers must do better to push through Whitehall's green procurement programme, according to a National Audit Office report.

Ministers must do better to push through Whitehall's green procurement programme despite the Prime Minister's 2010 commitment to make the Coalition 'the greenest government ever,' according to a National Audit Office report.

In a briefing note to the Commons environmental audit committee the National Audit Office (NAO) says that even though the Government's goods and service spend of £44bn gives it 'un- paralleled buying power in the UK' it still has yet to use this clout to pursue its green agenda.
